Water Line and Storage Tank Improvements
Services
Designed water line improvements to increase water transmission capacity in Greene County, Virginia. A PER along with a WaterCAD model was prepared to determine the hydraulic condition of the existing water distribution system, as well as the future fire flow demand required by the proposed development. The phased projects included 36,000 linear feet of 12-inch to 20-inch diameter water main piping, yard piping, 9 jack and bored highway crossings and stream/creek crossings, and a new pressure reducing valve vault. Project also included utility rate and fee structure assistance, route surveys for water line improvements, easement preparation, obtaining required approvals from the Virginia Department of Health, VDOT, and Marine Resource Commission, bidding assistance, shop drawing review, construction administration / inspection.
WW Associates designed and constructed a new 1.0 MG spheroidal elevated water storage tank for the U.S. Route 29 corridor in southern Greene County. Water level inside the tank is monitored by a pressure transducer level instrument located inside a circular enclosure at the base of the support structure; telephone telemetry is provided to transmit real-time tank level data to the Rapidan Service Authority WTP.
